Dancing With The Waxed Stars

Hi everyone and welcome to this week's Dancing With The "Stars" recap. This week we get to behold the Argentine Tango and the Sexy Samba...Didn't we do the Tango already? Bah. And there's a Swing dance marathon? This is going to be a looooooooong night.

I can already tell this night will be painful as The Bachelor Jake has already waxed up. Let's compare and see if I'm right. Last week:

This week:

Speaking of which, Jake is up first with the samba. They do okay, the judges talk about his pelvic thrusts and connecting to the music. I feel dirty.

Score for Wax Man: 7 - 7 - 7

The figure skater guy is next and he cracks his crock (literally) during rehearsal. They have this big to do about going to the doctor and after all this drama we find out he's totally fine. What's up with that? (Kidding of course) They dance to a slowwwwwwww version of a Black Eyed Peas song and I'm so distracted by his partner fluffy fluffy hair that I don't even know how they did. Let's ask the judges:

This guy's score: 7 - 7 - 7 (Please note, these scores were after the judges said he sucked but their still better than Kate or Buzz's scores so whatever)

Niecy Nash is next and I can only hope her "jiggly parts" are under control this week. Okay, here's one thing I noticed: she should be dancing with her hair down. I thought she looked much prettier in rehearsal than during her dance. They do a tango and FINALLY I see something that looks like what I thought a tango was so I am now on Team Niecy. So say we all.

Niecy's Score: 7 - 7 - 7 (Another note: The judges loved them and they got the same score as the ones that the judges did not like so...whatever)

That girl from ESPN is next and I don't know what it is but I really don't like her. I seriously don't know why...maybe it's because she killed Pulp Fiction which I love last week and this week she's killing instrumentals from Saturday Night Fever which I also love...Or maybe it's because her dress looks like it was brought to you today by the letter M and the number 3.

The bottom half anyway. The top half looks like she skinned a Vegas Showgirl.

ESPN Girl's Score: 9 - 7 - 9

Ochocinco is next and we're back to classic red and black for these two which I'm very proud of them. No more neutrally weirdo colors, yay! It seemed to me like they did okay. And..uh...yeah, that's all I got. They do cut to Donny Osmond while 85's getting judged which confused me. Are 85 and Osmond friends?

85's Score: 8 - 8 - 8

The Pussycat Doll is next and do we really even need to watch them dance? Just go ahead and put them through to the next round already.

Score for Dancing With The Dancer: 9 - 7 - 10

Pam is next and she's wearing a brunette wig that's a total no-no. Oh the color is fine but the shape is weird. Like a super poofy Trump toupee. Holy crap, they're dancing to an instrumental version of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence". Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! What is it with this show stomping all of my awkward angst-filled years?!

Pam's Score: 7 - 7 - 8

So that's the show for oh wait...they have to do the swing dance marathon thing. Okay, I love me some swing dancing so I can only pray that this is halfway decent. But they're doing it old school which means a (metaphorical) tap on the shoulder means you're out and the last couple standing gets 10 extra points. Is it me or this song being played at half speed? What is up with these songs sounding like they're on Xanax? Surprise surprise, the Pussycat Doll wins. Wow, what a nail biter...

Now for the results and I'm so late getting this recap up, let's just get right to it: The bottom two are Bachelor Jake and Niecy. And Jake's chest looks a little hairy again. Guess it was temporary wax. Anyhoo, Jake is eliminated which means that I technically don't have to watch anymore since he's the reason I watched in the first place, right?

Jake says that he thinks this is the best season of "Dancing With Stars" (My Mom says that's because he's never seen any other season since he was too busy doing it in hot tubs. Score one for Mom!) and he thanks the Facebooks. Um, sure. Then he cries.

Happy Friday everyone! :D

Toot on the Water...and Fire in the Sky...

Hi everyone!

No real significance to the title, I just love Deep Purple. :P I hope y'all had a great weekend! Things have been nuts around here lately but I managed to squeeze some creative time in there somewhere! :D I created this layout of Toot, she loves to take a bath and generally play in water no matter where it is, even if it's in the dog's water bowl. *sigh* But this picture is of her in the bath:

The paper is Beach House from the Fancy Pants Summer Soiree line. I also used three different pieces of punchinella behind the title from Gauche Alchemy's Punchinella Variety Pack.

The title was created with Thickers (I would never want to live in a world without Thickers. *dreamy sigh*) but I had a problem with the title blending into the background. Bah. So I just accented the letters with Stickles.

Everything else comes from the following Gauche Alchemy Mixed Media Color Kits: Wedding Night, Envy, Banana Hammock and Blue Streak. I love how versatile these kits are, you can use them in huge mixed media projects or on smaller scale scrapbook layouts. I love them!

More things are in the works but for now, this is what I got. LOL :D What did you do this weekend?

Circle Journal: Home Sweet Home

Hi everyone! My Friday Night Fab Five will return to its usual schedule next week. Not feeling very fab this week so instead I'm going to share with you my latest circle journal layouts. This journal belongs to Jacque of Detailed 4u Collections and she picked a theme called, "Home Sweet Home".

At first I thought her journal was going to be about the home you live in or your state or something like that. Then I found out that she had created a house shaped journal and was requesting us to create a "room" in the "house". This was such a fun concept but I admit to having no clue what the heck to do...initially anyway. :)

Then I thought, well heck. Should I ever get the pleasure of meeting Jacque in person, I could see us just sitting around, drinking coffee (if she drinks it, lol) and dishing. So that thought turned into:

It's a dream of mine, to have a "vintage" kitchen (shock, right?) so I used that for my inspiration. For the left side, I Mod Podged vintage kitchen images to the page and accented the pictures with Stickles and various pieces from the following Gauche Alchemy's Mixed Media Color Kits: Scarlet Fever, Wedding Night, Pink Parts and Blue Streak.

Here's the right side:

Here I Mod Podged the background using tissue paper from Gauche Alchemy's Wholey Sheet Kit and then used white acrylic paint and a paper towel roll to add texture with additional circles. I added a doily from the Wedding Night Mixed Media Color Kit, (as well as pieces from the color kits mentioned above), the housewife image, believe it or not, was on the envelope of something I bought from Art Deco Dame (I'm telling you, I throw nothing out! LOL). I accented here and there with Stickles and used Thickers for the title, "Jacque & Maggi Dish". (Get it? Cause we're in the kitchen and we're talking so "dish" could mean eating or talking...see how clever I am? ;) lol.)

And there's another line in the circle journal complete. I can't believe there's only one journal left and our little group will be finished! Thanks for taking a peek, I hope Jacque likes her new room! :D

**Don't forget: You have until Midnight on Sunday to link up your layout/project/thingie do for Gauche Alchemy's Ad Inspiration Challenge! You could win the Wholey Sheets kit which is AWESOME. Go here to see more projects from the DT and more details!

Have a great weekend everyone! Do you have any fun things planned?

Dancing With The Jiggly Flashers

So this week's Dancing With The "Stars" theme was "Movie Night", every couple had to dance to iconic songs from the movies. *sigh* This is going to get ugly quick. As long as they don't use any music from any of the movies I love, I'll be okay. What the heck is Brooke Burke wearing? She looks like a piano threw up all over her.

Any chance they'll kick more than one couple off this week? This show is super dragging out here...Anyhoo, I can already tell that this week is going to be scarring, Tom Bergeron mentions "Pulp Fiction" and that ESPN chick is trying to look like Uma Thurman. Well, there goes my high school angst up in flames. Thanks a lot, Dancing With The "Stars".

Niecy Nash is up first and she reacts to last week's judging of her being boring: "Boring?! Oh-hah, nobody calls me boring!" Um yeah...see Niecy, you've been pretty boring lately so I'm sorry if you think you're not boring and maybe in your everyday life you're a mile a minute adventure but with these emo slow boring dances, well you're just boring. Don't feel bad, you're not the only one!

So let's see what she does with "La Bamba"...Well, she does shake her chesticles around a lot so I guess that's sort of not boring. (She asks the judges about her "jiggling".) But she'll probably be covered in bruises tomorrow. Believe me, I know. Overall, the dance seemed very Niecy. She needs to stay away from slow boring songs from here on out.

Niecy's Jiggling Score: 6 - 6 - 6

Time for 85 to dazzle us with his movie moves, I'll be happy as long as they're out of that horrible color from last week:

So him and his partner "quick step" to "Bare Necessities" from Disney's Jungle Book while wearing tiger print. Yep, it's as bad as it sounds.

Score for the eye of the tiger: 6 - 6 - 6

That girl from ESPN is next and I'm so dreading this...I'm a HUGE Tarantino fan. I love Pulp Fiction, why must they destroy everything I love?! Why why why?! Gross, they're reenacting the dance contest scene. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo! How dare they cheapen John Travolta's comeback?! Travolta!!!!! Comeback!!! Here's how I feel about this, circa Toot at 2 months old:

Score for stomping on my memories: 7 - 7 - 8

Bachelor Jake is next up and they keep mentioning Risky Business. Now, there's only one song I can think of from "Risky Business", but they wouldn't do that to me, would they? Jake says something about people thinking he looks like Tom Cruise. Uh...sure. *eye roll* Then during rehearsals we get to see Jake without a shirt on, trying to do something cool with a volley ball and his partner is all like, "Wrong movie moron" to which he replies:

*dry heave* Then he tells us that his partner really wants him to feel the dance and he thinks he's "finally found that in my cha-cha and I'm really hoping that it comes out tonight." Dear Lord no, leave it in! Leave it IN!

But of course he didn't leave it in and we're treated to about 2-3 minutes worth of hell i.e. Jake in his underwear. "But Maggi, he's so good looking! Why wouldn't we want to see him in his undies?" Well, with any other man, you might be right. However when Goober's involved, something potentially awesome is brought to ruin with his lameness. Case in point:

Luckily his partner brings him some pants which he puts on in the middle of the dance floor. I'll spare you the rest.

Score for Goober McDouchetown: 8 - 7 - 8

Pamela Anderson is up next and they dance to "9 to 5". Can I just say, I think Pamela and I could be friends. Sure, I'd be her ugly friend but still, she looks like she'd be too cute to hang out with. Her costume is precious but it does look like they're just running around in circles.

Score for my BFF: 7 - 6 - 8

Ahhh...that was nice to see a sweet, fun dance...So who's next? Ah crap, it's Kate. I don't care what she's been through, her attitude SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. This show is suppose to be fun, bright, airy, entertaining, yes? Send her home America, end this misery already! AND she's dancing all over another memory from my childhood and she looks like some sort of off brand Barbie you get at the grocery store. I can't believe they're dancing to "Don't You (Forget About Me)". Why does ABC hate me so much? What did I do?

Score for whatever: 5 - 5 - 5

The Pussycat Doll is up next and they're doing "Pretty Woman". Not much to say here. She's already a dancer and is great...just like always.

Score for the Doll: 10 - 9 - 10

The figure skater guy is up next, they're dancing to Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" which means I'm out. Bleck Ewwww *fast forward*

Score for this guy: 9 - 9 - 9

And now on the the know what, let's just cut to the chase: They force us to watch Bachelor Goob dance with his *this close* to a boob flash partner and Kate goes home. All is right with the world.

Guns, Glue, Glitter and Glory

Happy Monday everyone! :D

There's a brand new challenge waiting for you on the Gauche Alchemy blog: Create something fabulous using this ad from Vintage Scans as inspiration:
Oh my, this doll is driving fast and packin' heat! Here's what I made (click any pictures for larger view):

My original thought was to cut a piece of cardboard from a box but when I cut the side off, it formed this three sided billboard-y thing so I just went with it. :D Here's the left side:

I decided to keep the color scheme from the ad so it's entirely black and white. I gave my new Bombshell stamps a whirl (I stamped the pin-up onto a piece of foreign newspaper from the Wholey Sheets kit) and used a menu from my favorite sushi joint and a measuring tape from IKEA. :D Close up of the middle section:

I used a TON from Gauche Alchemy's Black Out Mixed Media Color Kit and Wedding Night Mixed Media Color Kit. The right side:

Don't forget to visit GA to drool over what the DT made and to link up your creations! P.S.-The winner of this challenge will get Gauche Alchemy's Wholey Sheets kit and believe me, you want to win this kit - it is AWESOME! AND it looks like Toot made it on Yvonne's project so go check out the challenge HERE. Thanks Yvonne, you are sooooooo awesome!

Have fun everyone! :D

Friday Night Fab Five: Clean and Dirty

Hi everyone and welcome to this week's Friday Night Fab Five where I talk about 5 things I'm digging at the moment. Let's get it going:

1. Spartacus: Blood and Sand

(Image from the Starz Spartacus site)

This original show from Starz has everything! (If you're a Smarty McTarty with Netflix, you can stream all of the episodes) And when I say "everything", I mean blood, guts, boobs and other things I didn't think you could even talk about on TV, much less show it. Warning: this show is ultra violent and ultra naughty. Things I've said out loud said while watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand (not all at the same time of course):

"Oh SNAP!"
"Is that his...EWWWWWWW!"
"Kick his butt!"
"Oh my..."
"For Pete's sake, just die already!!!"
"Where is her underwear for crying out loud?!"
"Fade to black! Dear Lord in Heaven, fade to black!!!"

Yes, I watch this show like a 12 year old boy.

2. Pledge Fabric Sweeper
(Image from

Those with pets know what a major pain it is to have pet hair all over the furniture and what not. If you have not tried this handy little bit of magic, go out and buy it right now. This disposable fabric sweeper is AWESOME. And I'm not even on Pledge's payroll. Seriously, I love this thing.

3. This Toy

(Image from my camera :P)

I got this toy at a thrift store and it's going right up on a shelf in my creative crafty space. It makes me happy to look at it. :)

4. A Quilt-A-Long!

I found out about this quilt-a-long from...uh...crud, it was a blog...hmmmm. Okay, I can't remember, but someone just made a quilt playing along with i have to say, if it was you please leave a comment and remind me! lol

Anyhoo, the instructions seem pretty simple so I think I'm going to give this a go at some point this year.

5. Toot in a Cooler

What? She wanted to be in there!

So there you have it, another Friday Night Fab Five! Okay, so maybe Spartacus was the only "dirty" thing listed but the title was catchy and believe you me, Spartacus doesn't need anything else dirty listed with it, it stands just fine on its own.

What are your favorites this week?

A Flower, A Forum and Thee

So I'm finally feeling better! In your face mucus! Ha! But I've come to realize that I'm so behind on reading your fine blogs I'm never going to get caught up. Ugh. So to make amends, Toot would like to offer you a flower:

Okay, maybe not:

Nah, you can have the flower, I'm sure Toot's cool with it. :) At least under my cloud of disease I was aware enough to check the mail and boy oh boy...I got my awesome Gauche Alchemy goodness. You know, I was a customer of theirs before I ever made the Design Team and I have to say that one of my favorite parts of buying from Gauche Alchemy is their presentation. Even their wrapping is usable for all sorts of creative what nots.

How pretty is that? I loooooooooooove using sewing patterns when I'm being creative, hurray! I got a ton of fab stuff:

Color kits, paper kits, punchinella, plastic canvas, ouchless cardboard, on and on (all of which is available in the Gauche Alchemy store by the way) and I just finished my first project which I'll show you here sometime next week once it hits the GA blog. :)

But until then, you can check out my very first post on the Gauche Alchemy blog, I would love for you to stop by and say hello, I'm super nervous about my first real post over there! :D You can see it here.

I have another mega super fun announcement:

Visit Gauche Alchemy

The very first Gauche Alchemy Ning Network is open and waiting to be a bad influence uh I mean waiting to inspire you and it's going to suck if you're not there so why not join us? You know you want to. :D

I promise I'm going to get 'round to your blogs soon!!! Have a great day everyone!

EDIT: The amazing Yvonne made a layout of Toot! What a fabulous surprise!!!! You can see it on Yvonne's blog HERE. Thank you so much Y!!!

Dancing With Who Knows What

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your well wishes, I am feeling a little better today. Hurray!!! :D

I've decided to combine the DWTS weekly episodes into one post so each dancing episode and then the results show will be in one post from now on. :) Ready to get started? Me neither.

Last week it was Buzz Aldrin, second man on the Moon that was sent packing and ABC decided to really respect him and send him off in grand style:

Yep, I freakin' kid you not. ABC took an all-American history maker and shot him off the show like a space shuttle, complete with rocket fire and smoke. *face palm*

So this week it's the "DOUBLE SCORE SHOWDOWN" (emphasis ABC, not mine) which means it's one score for technique and one score for us for watching this show another week. Just kidding, the other score is for performance or something. They're dancing the "raunchy rumba" and "tempting tango" so I've got the Pepto handy, I'm pretty sure I'll be dry heaving the entire time.

First of all, remember Kate's first dance costume? I told them then to NOT put her in another drop waist and of course I was ignored. Again the dancers are split: it's ho vs. prude as half the girls are covered head to toe and the other half look like they should be on Cinemax.

The judges recap their opinions on the dancers and yes, it's just as boring as it sounds so I'll spare you. So after talking about all of the contestants, we then have to watch professional dancers that aren't in the competition dance. We're 2 minutes in and I'm already sure this episode is bloated with filler...again.

That girl from ESPN is first and although she finally covered herself and gave her some sort of breastular support, she looks like a some sort of Mask of Red Death. I like her shoes though. Are they doing this dance correctly? It looks like every other dance they've done. Bah.

Technique Score: 6 - 6 - 6

Performance Score: 7 - 7 - 7

That ice skater guy is next. You can tell they must have listened to their song a billion times because his partner is singing along to it while they dance. You know, the tango is not like what I thought it was. This is pretty boring.

Technique Score: 9 - 8 - 9

Performance Score: 9 - 8 - 9

Great, now we have to watch some girl dance in her underwear to introduce the rumba. *fast forward* Niecy Nash is up next. Meh, boring. Too many slow songs this episode maybe but blah blah blah.

Technique Score: 6 - 6 - 6

Performance Score: 6 - 6 - 6 Ooooo Double E-vil!

The guy from All My Children is next and I'm very confused by the song choices here. I get that they're probably trying to tie in recent popular music or whatever but emo pop music to this kind of dancing is just weird. Anyway, he was okay I guess.

Technique Score: 5 - 5 - 5

*After these scores were announced, Brooke asks them, "Were you hoping for more?" Uh no, we were hoping to get worse scores, moron. *eye roll*

Performance Score: 6 - 6 - 6

It's time for the Pussycat Doll, finally we'll get some snap and pizazz around here! Wait, what? "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"? Another slow dance? BO-RING. Whatever, let's just cut to the scores.

Technique Score: 9 - 8 - 8

Performance Score: 8 - 8 - 9

Jake the Bachelor dances to "A Girl Like You" which is a great song (Empire Records FTW!) but he trips and slips over his partner about a million times. Boo!

Technique Score: 6 - 7 - 6

Performance Score: 7 - 6 - 6

Now it's time for Kate's tango...*sigh*...So her partner tells her that if she fails this week that "He" wins and by "He" I can only assume he means Jon. Whatever, I just wish she'd quit dancing like she was made in a mad scientist's laboratory. I also wish she would smile or have some sort of different look on her face. The one she has on now makes me feel like she's going to kick my butt or something. Her dance was okay, definitely the best she's done so far. I still wish she'd get a new costumer.

Technique Score: 4 - 5 - 5

Performance Score: 6 - 6 - 6

My early prediction, she's in. She's got the sympathy vote and her "struggling" and what not just sealed it for her. No way she's in the bottom two or being eliminated.

Ochocinco is the last one to dance and the color that they are wearing is H-O-R-R-I-D. This beige-y, pinkish color is okay on him but his partner...ew...and the song they picked...eww....and then at the end they collapse on a big pile of used tissues or something. Actually, they're all wearing that ew-ish color tonight:

Technique Score: 7 - 6 - 8

Performance Score: 8 - 7 - 8

Color Score: -15

Oh crap, there's still one more couple. So close! I forgot about Pam. Somehow watching them dance, I feel violated...She does this sinking split thing at the end. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww...

*Tom pauses to tell us that next week is "Movie Week" where they have to dance to iconic songs from the movies and it will only be a 90 minute show. Woo hoo!!!

Technique Score: 7 - 8 - 8

Performance Score: 8 - 7 - 9

My final word on the rumba and the tango: BO-RING.

So that's it for this...oh right, results show...Okay, let's get this going:

First safe dancers: Ochocinco and Jake

Recap from a judge, blahblahblah. Then we get to watch Pam's dance again. My legs are still pained just watching that split she does at the end. Ouch. Then we find out that Sade is going to perform. Sade, NO! Don't do it! Then they show some cheesy movie trailer spoof for the show, "Tuesday the 13th", ugh.

But then the first commercial they show is delightful! I so adore Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka and this commercial is so fun:

A little scary I'm enjoying the commercials more than the show but there it is. Sade performs and some people dance. Hey, remember that song "Smooth Operator"? That was a good song.

*fast forward*

They tell us (again) what the points are for everyone. They finally get around to telling us who else made it through: Evan the Ice Skater. Then they show us baby pictures and tell us that Macy's is going to dance with violins and champion ballerina gangsters...or something like that. Oh geez, another movie spoof "ChaChablanca". They really trying hard to get me to hate Movie Week.

Ooooo Iron Man 2 trailer...woo hoo!

Great, now it's "Glambo: First Dance". Seriously, this is worse than you blowing Buzz into space. Enough with the spoof movie trailers!!!!!

Other safe people: The Pussycat Doll (Duh) and Pam (Yay!)

Okay, the hip hop violinists were pretty cool, then they make Sade sing again. Next safe whatever: That chick from ESPN. Meh. So now they're going to commercial...wait, nope. They're doing another spoof trailer. Grrrr...This one is "Double Ochocinco: Dance Another Day".

So let's get down to it: Kate is safe (figures, stupid voters) and That Guy From All My Children is going home. Boo! Quit voting for Kate people! It's called "Dancing" with the stars, not "Pitying" with the stars. Come on!

So anyway, there you go! :D Thanks for reading everyone! Your comments mean so much to me! :)

Hooked Up

Hi everyone!

We spent a few days at my mom's house and we had a blast despite Chris not feeling so well. He decided to share the love as I've gotten sick and am so miserable. Ugh. lol But I wanted to come out of my fog of disease to share some fun news: I've been published!

A couple of months back I discovered the most fab crochet magazine, Crochet Today and fell in love. They mix old and new crochet patterns that are easy to understand and it's just an all around fun magazine. It's hard for me to find mags that I find interesting enough to read cover to cover, much less ones that I read cover to cover every issue. Enter Crochet Today. I just love it and if you're looking for a good crochet magazine, this is the one I recommend.

So I am so enamored of this sweet magazine that I wrote to the editor and basically told them what I just told you and gushed for about a mile about how much I adore them. Well guess what? I'm in their current issue!

(Image from

My name in print! That's the same as my name in lights, right? ;) AND I got a free year's subscription, huzzah! Plus, their cover model is one of the models that was on Project Runway this current season! (Love that show!) How cool is that?! lol The issue my letter was printed in has about 10 patterns I want to try and I recently finished the first one, this monkey:

What? No, not that monkey! This monkey:

Alas, this monkey is not staying with me but getting ready to be mailed off to a new home. He got the Toot Seal of Approval and trust me, that is a hard seal to get. ;)

The next thing I'm working on is something I'm making to give away here on my blog so stay tuned for that. :D

So it just goes to show, if you have a favorite product, magazine or what have you, write them and tell them about it, you never know what might happen! :D

Have a great day everyone!

Friday Night Fab Five...On Saturday...In the Morning...

Hi everyone and welcome to this week's Friday Night Fab Five on Saturday in the Morning. :D We got back in town late yesterday and I was just too wiped out to come up with anything brilliant so I decided to wait until today to stun you with my wit and vivacity...or something like that. :P

1. AFV

So you all know by now that Toot was on America's Funniest Home Videos and that we were unable to see it due to a stupid tornado watch. I ended up writing to the show and telling them what happened. They were nice enough to send us a copy of the show! You know, seeing someone get hit in the groin with a baseball bat or watching a cat attack a baby was already good enough for me but now that they've sent us the show Toot was on, I will be a faithful, devoted follower of AFV for life.

2. Speaking of Toot...

The other day Toot was playing nearby while I was straightening up and when I turned around to look at her, I found her decked out in an old Halloween wig of mine:

3. New Ways To Wear Resin

I've been playing around with my resin molds lately and have made a couple of bracelets:

I see arms full of glitter in my future. Yes!

4. Interesting Pictures

Now, I am not a professional photographer by any means but I took this picture while at my mom's and I think it's interesting. (It's a close up of a telephone pole that people have stapled a massive amount of signs and what not to it.)

5. Letters

When I was around 11-12 years old, I must have had about 10 different pen pals from all over the world. It was amazing. I had this big box of stationary and just adored writing (real) letters to people and getting them in return. Most recently since getting to know some bloggers better, I have gotten back into letter writing, the above picture being my very first letter received! So far I've got two awesome pen pals and look forward to getting more. Let's get some real letters back in the Post Office, eh? :D

So that's my Fab Five for the week! What are your favorites this week?

Dancing With My Disappointment in America

Well well well, weren't we just here? Yes, it's time for another "thrilling" episode of Dancing With the "Stars", this time we're kicking one "star" out on their sequin covered backside. Yes! Please be Kate please be Kate please be Kate...

Let's get right down to it, the first "Stars" safe are...that guy from All My Children and that girl from ESPN. Meh.

Then they flashback to last night's show and make me watch Sk8tr Boi's dance and since I saw it the first time, why I needed to be reminded of past pain is beyond me. Then Reba McIntyre comes out to sing and some sort of slutty cowboys and cowgirls group come out and dance.

Finally some actual results! Another safe "dancer" - Niecy Nash.

Oh great, another dance number...

After that's over, the judges issue the challenge for next week. Something about two scores and tension, whatever. The next safe couple safe - The Pussycat Doll. Well, duh.

Then Reba sings again. With more slutty dancers. Seriously men, if you're not going to button your shirt, just dance without it. For the love of...

Oh geez, Melissa Rycroft is back *eyeroll* and sent amongst us bottom feeders to ask them what they think about the show. Are they serious with this crap? I could not care less about the warm-up act for Pete's sake. This show S-U-C-K-S. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

The next safe dancers - Sk8tr Boi and Ochocinco.

Now we get to hear what all of the dancers think of each other. I'm this close *holding up thumb and forefinger up* to running screaming into the night. This is so MIND NUMBINGLY re-freakin'-diculous. Just TELL ME WHO'S GOING HOME! TELL MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Next safe dancer - Pamela Anderson. Good.

All that's left is Jake the Bachelor, Buzz Moon Man and Kate Minus 9. They finally get around to announcing the bottom two: Buzz (no surprise) and Jake (Really?) and Kate is safe. Noooooooooooooooooooo! All right America, I'm coming for you.

Jake looks like he's going to puke and Buzz and his partner look resigned to it all. Long story short (yeah right) they kick Buzz out on his moon walking rear.

So there are your results. I'm off to visit my mom for a couple of days so I'll be checking e-mails but will be MIA from the blogs unfortunately so no posting about cool stuff till I get back!

Dancing With The Cheese

Well, here we are at the second (Second? Third not counting the results show? Tenth? I'm so lost) episode of season 10 of Dancing With The Stars!!! *crickets* Yeah, me too. I'm late with my recap because things have been nuts around here. I am sooooo behind on getting to all of your wonderful blogs, we're leaving tomorrow to go see my mom for a couple of days and we had plans to celebrate Easter with my Granny but on Saturday she had a heart attack and had to have emergency surgery. She is doing okay and will hopefully be released today, thank God!

So with all of that going on, I just assumed that the "Stars" could wait one day and didn't even bother watching last night. lol Last week the "Stars" were issued a challenge: their dance had to tell a story. Well they tell a tale most foul already so I'm not sure where else they can go from here but let's hope it's up. I can see from the dancer introductions that most of the stories are going to be good enough to make a romance novel cover.

Now we get to hear the "Stars" tell us about the dance they're going to do because just watching them dance isn't painful enough. That ESPN chick decides to do the waltz blindfolded and when she puts the blindfold on says, "I can't see!" Andddddddd we're off to a running start towards stupid here folks!

Wait, they just brought out three couples that are dancing around each other. Where did they come from and why the heck do we need to see them dancing anyway? Two hour long episodes...*sigh*

So first up is that figure skater guy and their story is from "Chicago" or he's from Chicago or something. I kind of can't hate them because I really love the music from "Chicago" and his partner does look super cute.

Score for Sk8er Boi: 9 - 8 - 9

Buzz is up next and they're doing a patriotic story with his partner being his daughter or...who the heck knows. All I know is this poor thing is trying so hard and...oh crap, they're dancing to "What a Wonderful World". Bro-ther this is going to be the cheesiest episode ever and that is SO saying something for this show.

Score for a man that has been to the MOON: 5 - 4 - 4 The crowd is booing these scores but some on people. Moon or no Moon, this guys stinks.

Jake the Bachelor is up next and they are going to dance to "Walk Like an Egyptian". So not only do the 1980s get an unwarranted kick in the groin but I can only assume that I will get permanent wrinkles in my forehead from the look of "What the?!" that will be on my face for the duration of their dance. Okay, I'm're dancing to a crappy cover of The Bangles and you're doing the waltz? It ends well though, she stuffs Jake into a sarcophagus.

Score for The Bachelor: 7 - 7 - 7

Niecy is up next and their story is being an interracial couple in the 1960s. My question is if they're dancing like a couple from the 60s, why do they look like they should be on "The Love Boat" in the 70s? Oh geez, they're dancing to "With You I'm Born Again". *dry heave* Make it stop...dear Lord in Heaven, make it stop!!!!!!!

Score for Niecy: 7 - 7- 7

It's Chad Ochocinco's turn next and they're doing some Spanish something or other. He's even got "Ocho Cinco" on the back of his little matador jacket. By the way, his last name really is Ochocinco and if you don't know the story behind that one, click here. Some people were born to dance and some are just born to be pretty. While Chad wasn't horrible this week, he sure is pretty. They should quit having him dance and just put a picture of him in the corner of the screen.

Score for 85: 7 - 6 - 7

It's time for Pamela Anderson Lee No Just Anderson. Despite all of my best efforts to feel nothing for this show, I was totally disgusted that they were in the bottom two last week and even more disgusted Shannen went home instead of stupid Kate. Anyhoo, Pam and her partner are doing some Spanish theme too and Charo stops by to give them some pointers. Can I just say that I love Charo? That woman still has it! Their dance was okay, he starts by slinging Pam across the floor which looked painful and they're dancing to "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". Come on, let's leave decent songs alone!

Score for Pam: 7 - 7 - 7

That pretty boy from "All My Children" is up next. He's a painter or something, I don't know what's going on here. He looks good in his suit though.

Score for this guy: 7 - 6 - 7

That ESPN girl is next and I'm not sure but I think I don't like her. Her dress looks like something from David's Bridal (Come on, you Bridesmaids out there know what I'm talking about). I'm not sure what the story is here and she has this really goofy look on her face.

Whatever, here's her scores: 8 - 7 - 8

So they've saved the best and worst for last: The Pussycat Doll and Kate.

Kate up first and their story is about her getting away from the paparazzi. You know what would help keep the paparazzi away? Not continuing to be on television shows, a-duh. Wait a minute...are they actually dancing to Lady Gaga?! Noooooooo! And Kate still sucks just as much this week as she did last week. What an angry person. If America votes to keep her on the show another week, I'm going to go door to door and give each Kate voter I find a good punch in the nose.

Scores for the Kraken: 5 - 5 - 5

So The Pussycat Doll is up next and seriously, is there any point in saying anything? She's an actual dancer, she keeps trying to act like she's all unsure of herself, her boobs defy gravity and her partner is still creepy. They were great...of course.

Whatever: 8 - 6 - 9

I'm done! Woo hoo! Time to get Toot some lunch, have a great day everyone!!! :D

Friday Night Fab Five: Happy Happy Joy Joy

Hi everyone! :D

First some business: Thanks to you all that stopped by yesterday during the Gauche Alchemy blog hop! I so appreciate your support and sweet comments! The winner of my Color Kits grab bag is....Jacque4u2c! Yay! I'll be sending out your prize next week! :D

And so now I can welcome you to this week's Friday Night Fab Five where I list 5 things this week that I adore. You know, today has been kind of yucky. Toot doesn't feel well, I don't feel well and the whole day has been blah. So for this week's Fab Five, I wanted to highlight 5 things that make me happy. :D

1. This Ad
I so enjoy reading Tristan's blog, Enchanted Revelry and he included this vintage ad in his post, "Things You Need to See, Things You Hope to Never See..." and it makes me happy.

2. Sunshine

(Picture from GiaGia's Flickr)

Spring has come and although looks like it's already headed out since it's over 80 degrees today, I so love bright warm-but-not-too-hot sunny days. On days like that, I always sing this song:

3. Arrested Development
(picture from
This show only lasted 3 seasons on Fox but funny. And now all three seasons are streaming on Netflix. Bliss!

4. Glitter

I guess this would go without saying since the word "glitter" is in my blog title but still...Glitter makes me happy.

5. Pullip Dolls

Not the cheapest hobby to have but I've been lucky enough to be able to have two lovely Pullip dolls in my collection. And yes, I may be too old to "play with dolls" in the strictest sense but, know. :D

So that's it for this week's Friday Night Fab Five! What makes you happy this week?

Stick a Fork In Me, I'm Gauche

Back in September of 2009, Gauche Alchemy asked me to be a guest designer for their Hot For Teacher kit. I said back then how smart they were for picking me as a guest designer ;) but now they really have proven their smarts because they have decided to give me a spot on their awesome design team! Not only that but I will be functioning as a DT Captain so how about them Gauche apples? :D I'm so thankful to have been picked for this amazing team. I love GA!

Actually, they've got a whole new gauche Design Team and today we're having a "Gauche Girls Open Up" blog hop so that you can get to know us all! So hop on back to Gauche Alchemy's blog to start at the beginning if you haven't already. If you have already started on the hop you should have come from Nina's blog Creating in Solitude. Some of the chicks are giving away RAKs and other fun what nots so make sure you comment on each of the Gauche Girls blogs for a chance to win.

To make it even more fun, each of the girls have picked a special word and your mission is to find it in their hop posts, take note of each girl and their word and then report back to the Gauche Alchemy Blog with your answers - if you get it right, you get a shot at a wicked awesome prize pack from GA.

To celebrate the new team announcement, I made a little something-something. :D It's a hangie thingie made from a blank flashcard. On one side, I decided to show you my calm side (circa 1982, I think this was :D)

I used a Prima flowers packaging for the background and then toilet paper roll painted on it. I also used pieces from Gauche Alchemy's Mixed Media Color Kits.

Now for the other side, I went all superhero...I am Wonder Woman!!! *pow!* *bam!* *zork!*

Yeah, I don't know what I mean by "zork" but no matter - KAPOW!!! What's the ticket for, you ask? It's a ticket to the gun show of course! *ping pachu ping ping* (Those were bullets bouncing off my rockin' Wonder Woman bracelets :P) By the way, this picture is 1979 I believe.

More from the Mixed Media Color Kits and a saved bow from a Christmas present. Lots of Stickles were harmed in the making of this project. :P After all, I do like to SPARKLE. (psssttt...Write down "Sparkle". hint-hint-wink-wink)
Now I can't let y'all go without saying good-bye properly...with prizes! I've made this little baggie o' awesome for one lucky person. It's filled with pieces from every single Mixed Media Color Kit, put together from my personal stash. :D And it can be yours, just leave a comment in this post and I will randomly draw a winner.

(Please note, nosy baby hand not included in prize pack. :P)

Well, that's it for me! Thanks for hopping on through, I'm so excited and honored to be a part of the GA team! Now go and head over to Angela at The Prissy Pixel for your next Gauche-y stop.

Have a great day! :D
