Last Train to Gluesville

Hey y'all!

Wow, Friday already, can ya believe it? Actually I can't since I've been thinking it was Thursday all week. lol Anyhoo, exciting announcement today as Gauche Alchemy is sponsoring the new challenge over at These are a Few of My Favorite Things!

TAAFOMFT is an awesome challenge blog where they pick a new "favorite thing" for every prompt. The prompt we're sponsoring is "Favorite Band" and boy was I excited to create something for this one. Or maybe I never mentioned my obsession with The Monkees?! lol To see what our DT made, check it out on the Gauche Alchemy blog AND you can actually see our DT PLUS the Favorite Things DT creations by heading on over to the These are a Few of My Favorite Things blog. We're giving away our last ACME kit so I do hope you'll play along! :)

Here's what I made:

I found this canvas picture on clearance for $1 so I covered that with Gesso, then I used a piece of Sassafras paper from the ACME kit as the background. The rest of it came together pretty easily since I let the patterned paper do most of the work. :)

The title says "Listen to the Band" which was the name of one of The Monkees later songs. I love this picture of them...so cute! :D I also added the vintage Monkees button I got a while back (I have two so I felt safe using one here. LOL I also used some pieces from the Blue Streak and It's All Gravy, Baby Mixed Media Color Kits.

Again, there's an awesome prize up for grabs so head on over to These are a Few of My Favorite Things and link up your favorite band!

I hope y'all have a great weekend, anything exciting planned???

A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You

Hi everyone!

Let's see...we're at Tuesday, right? :D So how's your week going so far? I'm running all over the place, internet-ally speaking (lol) but wanted to drop in and give you a look at what I (and Toot!) have been doing. First, Toot loves watching Blue's Clues with Pete...

Too bad this show is long gone, she loves it!

Next, here's a little hat I crocheted for my Dal (it's suppose to look like Mickey Mouse ears :D):

"Take me to Disneyland...STAT!"

Let's check in on Toot...Ah yes, here she is enjoying her new pool:

She really is a little mermaid...L-O-V-E-S the water!

And last but not least, here are my ATCs for the "My Favorite and My Best" ATC swap group. This month we did our favorite color and surprise surprise as to which color I picked! lol

I used Barbie magnets, Nikki Sivils "Breadless Tags", my handy dandy Dymo label maker, bits from Gauche Alchemy's Pink Parts Mixed Media Color Kit and stamped ink through punchinella to add some interest to the background and of course added Magenta Stickles.

There's actually a ton more going on behind the scenes here but there's a couple of things for you anyway. lol What are you up to this week, creative or otherwise? :D

Friday Night Fab Five: All Over the Place

Hi everyone!

Welcome to this week's Friday Night Fab Five where I list 5 things I'm into this week. This week there's a little bit of this and that so let's get started, shall we?

1. Dollhouse

(Picture from Fox)

Thanks to Netflix streaming, I've been able to discover yet another show that's already been canceled and I have no hope of closure. Ah well, it's cool...Dollhouse was great while it lasted (the first season anyway) plus I got to see a lot of my Firefly/Battlestar Galactica friends in various episodes so I'm happy. :)

2. This Shirt from Spot of Tea

(Picture from Spot of Tea)

Um, hello...how can you not like anything that specifically tells you to add glitter to something? Way to go Spot of Tea!

3. Toy Story 3 for the Xbox 360

(Picture from Disney)

Toy Story 3 the movie was great and Toy Story 3 the video game for the Xbox 360 is awesome! That being said, there were some frustrating parts that had me scaring off sailors with my potty mouth but whatever. It rules!

4. Tasty Crochet

(Picture from Amazon.com)

Tasty Crochet by Rose Langlitz is a super cute book full of tasty patterns for you to create your own cupboard of crocheted goodness. There are some basic type patterns here as well as some that are more involved but they're all pretty easy.

5. The Guild Season 4

<br/><a href="http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/season-4-episode-1-epic-guilt/y0ytgrbc?fg=sharenoembed" target="_new"title="Season 4 - Episode 1 - Epic Guilt">Video: Season 4 - Episode 1 - Epic Guilt</a>

The Guild is back...YES!!! The best webseries about a group of ragtag PC gamers, it's funny and witty and now has 100% more Wil Wheaton. Huzzah!

And that's it for this week's Fab Five! What are your favorites this week?

There's No Place Like Home...

Hey y'all!

Well, we're back from our New York vacation and although it was loads of fun, there's no place like home, yes? :D I've got some projects in the works but thought I'd take some time and make you sit through some "vacation slides" as it were. >:) lol

Toot very obviously enjoyed the bus ride into Manhattan:

Don't worry, she woke up:

At a friend's cook out, Toot gets a face full of water:

We got to go to the New York Botanical Garden this time around and it was wonderful!

I got to have true ramen in the Village...oh I could have buried my face in the bowl it was THAT GOOD:

We also had dim sum in Chinatown where Chris tried duck feet (actually Toot ate duck feet and duck tongue):

For those of you that are interested, all of our NY videos can be found on my You Tube Channel and all of our pictures can be found in my Flickr account.

We had a lot of fun and ate some amazing food this time around! But it's back to business I suppose to this week I'm hoping to catch up with all of you!!! See you soon! :D
