Lesson Learned

Hi everyone!

My last post was about some things I mailed off, if you remember: this little box went to Texas:

And this afghan went to New York:

Well, in theory anyway. I sent them both Priority mail the same week and apparently BOTH of them have not reached their destinations and are presumably LOST. *sob*

Lesson Learned: Always get tracking numbers because if you don't the Post Office will punish your handmade objects by viciously losing them.

My best guess is that the Post Office likes to see pregnant women cry...

  3. Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous!! I'm so sorry. That sucks so much. Shame on you USPS. Shame, shame, shame!!

  4. Oh no!!! We've had problems with packages magically disappearing and magically reappearing. Hopefully that is the case for you as well.

  8. I've have the very same thing happen to me but delivery confirmation didn't help because they leave the package sitting on people's front door where it's presumably been taken by passers by. Only signature required delivery seems to work. I agree with Deb- maybe it's the bad weather delaying things? Fingers crossed!
    PS- that quilt is AWESOME!!!

  9. Oh Maggi I hope it's just a delay and that both packages eventually show up! :(

  12. You've got to be kidding...they lost both...going to two different states! Unbelievable, they're probably lost in the PO you originally took them to, that's what I'm thinking! You could have had your baby in the middle of the crying, but then they'd probably lose the baby too! I'm so upset for you...I mean they can send tiny little cards and letters but not two packages, with homemade one of a kind crafts!

  13. Oh no! Maggi, I am so sorry to hear. Maybe there is a way to find out what happened - maybe the weather caused the delay. Hope they will turn up soon!!! Big hugs - Theresa

  14. Oh boy! Hope they turn up somehow. I haven't lost anything I mailed in the US. Yet. Even though during the X'mas period, it took 6 weeks!!!

  15. Oh no Maggi what rotten luck :(

Here's hoping it all just got caught up in the Easter post and will find their way to their new homes soon.

  16. I had a similar situation...granted mine were both out of the country...but it took a ridiculous amount of time for one package...and oddly enough, I had received a package from the same destination sent out to me at the same time and it arrived weeks before...so there you have it it makes no sense!
I hope it turns out for you..it would be a shame to lose that hand crafted afghan...what luck!

Ohnoes! That's terrible Maggi! I do hope they turn up; you've put so much thought and work and effort into those packages ~ particularly the afghan.

It would be such a shame to lose them... : (

  20. Its completely random that i'm here...just pushing back my bedtime! But! I accidentally mailed my sister's Christmas package to an old address in New Mexico and thought for sure they had lost it or someone stole it. It showed back up on my door two months later. The box looked pretty shabby but all the homemade contents were still in good shape. So don't lose hope! and always get delivery confirmation or tracking numbers! it was a long two months of misery for me!

  21. :-( I know how hard you worked on those sheep too!! I hope this never happens again!!!

  22. What an awful thing to happen right before you give birth!! I'm praying the boxes turn up eventually. I've never had anything lost in the mail, even after hundreds of ebay transactions. I'm so sorry!

  23. So sorry those beautiful things were lost! I always print my labels on-line. You automatically get delivery confirmation on first class and priority mail and it's so much nicer not having to wait in line at the post office. Sure hope they turn up.
