Lesson Learned

Hi everyone!

My last post was about some things I mailed off, if you remember: this little box went to Texas:

And this afghan went to New York:

Well, in theory anyway. I sent them both Priority mail the same week and apparently BOTH of them have not reached their destinations and are presumably LOST. *sob*

Lesson Learned: Always get tracking numbers because if you don't the Post Office will punish your handmade objects by viciously losing them.

My best guess is that the Post Office likes to see pregnant women cry...

Project Wrap Up

Hi everyone!

Well, just over 2 weeks to go if this baby decides to stick to the midwife's estimated due date. Come on baby! :D

As I've said before, I've been in a rush to finish some projects before the baby arrives and here are a couple of them. I joined a swap over at Ravelry.com and here's what I sent my partner:

I crocheted her a couple of dishcloths and sent her some other yummies for her kitchen, including my favorite crochet book, Twinkie Chan's Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies.

I have a friend who is also having a baby (a boy) and she is due near the end of May so I crocheted this baby afghan using a pattern from the March/April 2011 issue of Crochet Today.

Blood, sweat and sometimes literal tears went into making this blanket. Took me FOREVER! lol

I'm a Selfish Winner I Am

Well, I was lucky enough to win a giveaway from Jackie over at A[mi]dorable Crochet a while back. I picked out an owl hat for myself and it came today! Soooooo awesome!

(Apologies for "No Make Up Maggi". LOL)

And as a surprise treat, Jackie included this turtle!

It was love at first sight and now I'm on a mission to keep it out of The Hands of Toot because it's mine mine mine! :D Hey, I never crochet anything for myself so this was a double treat for me! lol

Homegrown Scrapbooking

Hi everyone!

Well, I've got about 4 weeks left of my pregnancy. That's give or take of course, depending on when this little one feels like heading on out (pun intended) and believe it or not, I've actually got a layout all ready for her first scrapbook. *shocked gasp* I know, I was shocked too!

Not only that, but this layout features a picture of yours truly. *double shocked gasp* I know, me too! :P

I used Cosmo Cricket's "Garden Variety" line (I am SO IN LOVE with Cosmos Cricket at the moment, I want it all!) and added some punchinella and lace from Gauche Alchemy. I also used a couple of cutesy-poo flowers from Detailed 4 U Collections.

If you've been around here for a while you know just how rare it is that I scrap any picture of myself. lol I'm trying to get better about that! Like I said, I'm at "the light at the end of the tunnel" (no pun intended that time) stage of my pregnancy so I'm WAY behind everything "blog" at the moment. If I've missed a post of yours that you know I have to see, please e-mail me and let me know! I'm going to try and get caught up ASAP. :)
