Windmill Shawl with Vivid Fiber Arts, Part 1

Hi everyone!

I'm running another yarn test for the super awesome Vivid Fiber Arts, this time it's a gorgeous bamboo/cotton blend in the "Sonrisa" colorway:

The pattern I'm using is by A La Sascha called, Windmill Shawl. (Also available through their Ravelry shop.) Here are some WIP pics:

Now a little further on, lol

This pattern is extremely easy while giving off a beautiful, more complicated look. This is a great pattern for beginning hookers who want to try out a shawl. :D

As for the yarn, it's another knock out of the park for me so far! Glides nicely through the hands without being slippery, feels good like a cotton yarn should. lol No sheen like VFA's previous Lux line but it's very soft and squishy. The gradient has been a gradual change and actually snuck up on me a couple of times like, oh snap, you look different now! lol Which is really the best part about working with this fabulous yarn.

I can't wait to share the finished shawl with yo…

I've mentioned before that I'm a big fan of gradient yarns but as a crocheter, you usually end up with stripes of color not gradual changes that flow from one color to the next. One of the biggest things that has impressed me about Vivid Fiber Arts is that they've completely kept crocheters in mind and not only offer higher yardage skeins for crocheters (our projects tend to eat up more yarn than knitting) but also thought about the color changes themselves so we don't get a case of the stripes.

This colorway is called, "Morning Glory" and I think it's going to be popular! Anyone that is a fan of …
